Instant Crush #2
Jee–has it been a hot minute since I've spoke to you, whoever you are? I hope you're well. This is just to say I'm still alive, and 100% am still crushing on things from all over the place. Here are a few recent things of note:
1. Future Lions
Our team's project 'A B See' made the shortlist for AKQA Future Lions. What a dream! Though we didn't win, to even make the shortlist was such a milestone for all of us. You can read about it here.
2. Summer Somewhere
My sister just released her new collection, 'Summer Somewhere' for Eraser Street, and it's a beauty. Do yourself a favour and snag a tee here before they're all gone.
3. Laugh It Off
My favourite pop star recently is Chelsea Jade. Born in NZ, but living in LA, Chelsea Jade's work has a quirk and an eye unlike any artist I've seen. I'm literally obsessed with every music video she puts out. Her new release 'Laugh It Off' is no exception. She's a treasure, and it's only a matter of time till the whole world knows it.
4. Sporty Pink
Durga Chew-Bose's piece on 'Sporty Pink'. It's great. There are so many good lines, but I'll leave you with these ones. You can read the whole thing here.
"Conceivably enough, sporty pink isn’t purely a color. It seems to locate a period in time and a tier of celebrity, even lapsed celebrity: manufactured and strictly pop, with Americana derivation... Sporty pink—its name and tint—suggests a lifestyle that might elicit judgment or is entirely dismissed, but that ultimately sells. Like celebrity fragrances".
5. Ugly Sneakers
Speaking of SSENSE, this piece by Jamie Lauren Keiles, is perhaps one of my favourite piece's of writing I've stumbled across this year. Makes you really think about that sneaker the whole world loves to love, or loves to hate. Read it here.

5. Entireworld
Scott Sternberg's new venture Entireworld is just so good! I mean, where do I start? The website! There are so many tiny little details, from the view count to the sound design, that are all so considered and creative. Even their launch video is so beautiful. Honestly, what they're doing right now with clothing, tone of voice, and even Instagram content, is so inspiring. You can follow them here.
6. The Lemon Twigs
I keep going back to this music video. The story arc. The sense of humour. The best!
7. Winter Solstice
It's the shortest day tomorrow, how cool? The sun's going to set at, like, 5PM. Crazy! Nature, huh? What a riot.
